Ellipse Tower Grand Staircase
In the back of Alexander House, in the center of the cottage, is a three-and-one-half-storie ellipse-shaped tower with back entrance side lights and windows; this is the family entrance. The tower was designed to hold the Grand Staircase, which serves as the conveyor to all four stories commonly used in Barouque palaces and mansions to create a sense of grandeur. The staircase features elaborate balustrades, spelter sculptures, and paintings that reflect the opulence of the period in which Alexander House was built.
